UMP Collaborates with Bank Rakyat to offer i-Education Financing

Kuala Lumpur, 9th July - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Bank Rakyat to help students further their studies to a higher level. Through this strategic alliance, qualified students can apply for i-Education Financing for up to RM1 million with a financing period of up to 20 years at competitive profit rates.

At this stage, the collaboration with UMP will benefit the students who are pursuing their studies in dual degree programme, a collaborative programme between UMP and Karlsruhe University of Applied Science (HsKA) and German Reutlingen University (RU) as well as students who will be joining the Academic Collaboration Programme (PERSISIR) UMP and the German-Malaysia Institute (GMI) at this university.
  
The ceremony witnessed Bank Rakyat Chief Operating Officer (Business), Dato' Amirudin Abdul Halim and UMP Vice-Chancellor, Dato’ Sri Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim signed the memorandum in the event held at Tun Abdul Razak Hall, Menara Bank Rakyat. This strategic alliance involves AKATI Consulting (M) Sdn Bhd, Admal Aviation College and MARA Poly-Tech College (KPTM). Present at the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer, AKATI Consulting (M) Sdn Bhd, Krishna Rajagopal, Chief Executive Officer, Admal Aviation College, Tuan Haji Abd Malek Packeer Mohamed and Chief Executive Officer, KPTM, Nordin Ahmad.

According to Dato’ Sri Dr. Daing Nasir, UMP believes more collaborative opportunities will be explored and UMP is also committed to maintaining the close ties by extending collaborative networks with other strategic partners that can be utilized for development and excellence of the university.

“At the same time, UMP has also introduced the Education Incentive Scheme and scholarship to those eligible and selected students. This is part of the MyGift initiative introduced by UMP in order to communities the universities as well as fundraising efforts to assist those in need to pursue their studies at this university,” he elaborates further. 

Meanwhile, for Dato’ Amirudin, this collaboration was the initiative of Bank Rakyat to widely promote i-Education Financing hence contributing to the development of human capital to produce a highly skilled community in the country.
 
He added, the requirements to apply for this funding are Malaysian citizens aged 18 years and above and not exceeding 60 years at the end of the financing period. In addition, applicants or family members of the applicant must also have a minimum monthly income of RM 2,000.
