UMP contributes 600 hand sanitisers for frontliners

As an effort to assist the frontliners to curb the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) contributed 600 bottles of hand sanitisers: triUMPH (1 L) and hand-carry Germs Free Hand Sanitizer (30 mL).

Senior Executive from the UMP Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Saharudin Ramli presented the contribution to Senior Private Secretary of Pahang Menteri Besar, Dato’ Haji Md Yusli Ibrahim Mohd Yunus on 6 April 2020.

Also attended were the General Manager of UMP Technology Sdn. Bhd., Muhamad Nizam Abdul Rashid and Saiful Anwar Izar from the Management Services Division of the Office of Pahang Menteri Besar in Kuantan.

This triUMPH product is the innovation between UMP Technology Sdn. Bhd. And MNR Multitech Sdn. Bhd., which are the wholly-owned subsidiaries of UMP Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (UMPH).

Germs Free Hand Sanitizer is a product of UMP Renal Care Sdn. Bhd., a UMP spin-off company.

According to Muhamad Nizam, triUMPH is formulated according to the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO).

“The 70% alcohol in this product is effective to kill virus. This contribution is in line with the UMP spirit to contribute expertise and facilities for the community.

“The liquid disinfectant Germs Free Hand Sanitizer contains betel leaves extract that inhibit microbial growth. It also contains aloe vera and vitamin E that are suitable for the skin.

“Currently, this product is available in liquid and gel forms,” he said.

According to Saharudin, the contribution was one of the social responsibility initiatives to the community during the Covid-19 outbreak by focusing on the frontliners who are working hard to break the virus chain.

In addition to hand sanitisers, UMP Renal Care Sdn. Bhd. Also produces food vinegar-based high-level disinfectant Diaclean Pera Sterilant as a surface disinfectant for public housing areas, housing interiors, schools, offices and hospitals.

In an effort to help the frontliners who are working tirelessly to fight the outbreak, UMPH has also launched triUMPH Frontliners Fund to collect contribution for drinking water.
