180 undergraduates from 13 public universities participate in the World Software Testing Program

The World Software Testing Program (WSTP) is a collaboration between Ministry of Higher Education, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Technology Education Leader Sdn Bhd (TEL) and MicroFocus/HP. The program was carried out for 8 weeks between October through December 2017 and has successfully trained 180 Information Technology and Engineering undergraduates from 13 public universities. The program is under the Ministry of Higher Education’s Graduate Employability grant (GE).

Pelancaran UMP Valid8 dan Dompet Mudah Alih UMP XChain guna Teknologi Blockchain

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP)  menjadi universiti pertama di Malaysia yang menggunakan Teknologi Blockchain bagi Pengesahan Perakuan Sijil UMP Valid8 dan Mobile Wallet –UMP XChain atau Dompet Mudah Alih yang dilancarkan hari ini. Keunikan teknologi ini adalah pada data sesebuah aplikasi itu yang disimpan menggunakan konsep Distrubuted Ledger iaitu data tidak disimpan pada hanya satu lokasi, tetapi disimpan secara encrypted di pelbagai lokasi.

UMP Launches UMPValid8 and Mobile Wallet UMP XChain

Universiti Malaysia Pahang becomes the first public universities in Malaysia to use Blockchain Technology for UMPValid8 and Mobile Wallet UMP XChain. UMPValid8 is the new application design to validate the authenticity of graduation  certificates. 

Special features of this technology lies in the data storage where the application data is not kept in single location, but is encrypted and stored in various location using the concept of Distributed Ledger.

Seramai 700 orang daripada mereka yang mempunyai sijil kemahiran dan graduan diploma serta sarjana muda dari pelbagai institusi pendidikan tinggi di seluruh negara bakal ditawarkan penempatan mengikuti Program Latihan Kemahiran Industri ECRL (PLKI-ECRL) setelah berjaya dalam sesi pemilihan yang dijalankan pihak Syarikat Malaysian Rail Link MRL) dengan kerjasama Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) pada tahun ini.

Dato' Sri Ibrahim Ahmad the new chairman for UMP Board of Directors

Dato’ Sri Ibrahim Ahmad, 61 has been appointed the new chairman of UMP Board of Directors, for three years starting from 1 January 2018 until 31 December 2020. The appointment was made by the Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh in accordance with the provisions of Section 17 (1) (a) of the University Constitution. Dato’ Sri Ibrahim Ahmad is taking over the post from Dato’ Sri Mohd. Hilmey Mohd Taib who has served as the chairman for 11 years since 1 September 2006 until 31 August 2017.
