UMP bonds with Media in friendly bowling competition

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) recently held a friendly bowling tournament with members of the Press, extending the university’s appreciation for the latter’s efforts in providing ample media exposure about UMP over the years.

Conducted for the seventh year running, the UMP-Media 2019 Bowling Friendly programme was held at the Megamall shopping complex in Kuantan on May 2, 2019, with more than 100 participants, comprising UMP management staff, media practitioners and external government agencies.

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) community especially students at Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM) now have the opportunity to access to books and journals on management, finance, governance practices, integrity and ethics that belonged to one of their prominent academicians, Allahyarham Professor Dato’ Dr. Ishak Ismail who passed away on April 4, 2019.

More than 100 books belonging to him that have been donated to UMP Library in Gambang Campus and Pekan Campus which can be referred to for the purpose of learning.

Malay language enhancement carnival benefitted UMP foreign students

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP)’s Centre for Modern Languages & Human Sciences (CMLHS) organised the Enhancement of Malay Language Carnival and Community Service involving 35 of its foreign undergraduates who were from Yemen, Egypt, Iraq, Syria and Sudan, and 444 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Bera.
The event, which was held on April 23, 2019, saw the participants taking part in cross-cultural programmes of the Malay language and culture and that of the international cultures.

Agrobank contributes pocket money to 35 selected undergraduates

A total of 35 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students received assistances included pocket money totalling RM17,500 under the UMP MyGift programme called ‘Pocket Money Initiative’ that was aimed to lessen their financial burden.
The money was from tithes provided by Agrobank which also contributed takaful aids amounting to RM385,000 that served as Personal and Accident Protection Scheme to the students who were from the B40 family background.

Kuantan, 10 Mei – Buku berjudul “Pendidikan Tahfiz dan Kemahiran Insaniah” terbitan Penerbit Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) hasil karya Pensyarah Kanan Pusat Bahasa Moden & Sains Kemanusiaan iaitu Dr Rashidi Abbas merangkul Anugerah Buku Negara 2019 (ABN 2019) bagi Buku Umum Terbaik (Kategori Pendidikan) di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur baru-baru ini.

Program Juara empower ECER tingkat pencapaian pelajar sekolah

Kuantan, 2 Mei- Seramai 81 pelajar yang memperolehi keputusan cemerlang dalam tiga peperiksaan utama tahun lalu iaitu Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), PT3 dan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) dirai dalam Majlis Kecemerlangan Akademik Juara empower ECER 2018  yang diadakan di Dewan Astaka UMP Gambang.  Mereka terdiri daripada tiga orang pelajar Orang Asli yang memperoleh keputusan cemerlang dalam peperiksaan UPSR, 15 orang pelajar mencapai keputusan 5A dan ke atas dalam peperiksaan PT3 serta 26 orang pelajar cemerlang SPM.

STARS Project lends exposure to campus life

The three-way collaborative effort between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and selected schools and industries – dubbed Projek Kilauan Mutiara STARS, or loosely translated as the Sparkling Pearl Project (STARS) – has given the opportunities to selected secondary school students to experience life as an undergraduate on campus.
