ECER Empower programme helps increase income of participants

KUANTAN, Oct 7 (Bernama) --  Single mother Hasliza Abdul Hadi has been in the food business for 15 years, but she is still looking for opportunities to expand her business and venture into new fields.

With determination to challenge herself to do better,  the 46-year-old woman with six children joined the  East Coast Economic Region (ECER)  Empower Skills and Entrepreneurship Training programme,which was .carried out with the collaboration Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). 

"I have not the slightest regrets joining this course, which is for three months, because it opens my eyes to not just focus on my food shop business.

“Now, I’m expanding mu business to catering, and Alhamdulillah, my income has increased from RM5,000 to RM9,000 a month,” she told Bernama when met at the closing of the training by UMP Advanced Education Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Dr Mohamad Rozi Hassan.

At the event, an Orang Asli from Pekan, Sahril Din, 31, was named the recipient of the Best Orang Asli Student.

He took up a course in motorcycle repair and maintenance and now had opened a motorcycle workshop in Kampung Gumum, Pekan near here.....
