SKIS students excited to receive the UMP Foundation donation

Pekan, 26 August 2020 - Feelings of happiness and excitement radiated for 26 students with disabilities (OKU) who went to school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Indera Shahbandar (SKIS), Pekan when they received daily necessities donations from UMP Foundation.

The UMP Prihatin program at this school is the result of a collaboration with the Office of the Vice-Chancellor as one of the activities in conjunction with Independence Month.

The handing over of necessities was presented by the Deputy Registrar, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Zainuddin Mat Husin.

Also present were SKIS Headmaster, Mohammad Ismail, and UMP Foundation Chief Executive, Mohd Jamil Mohd Jaafar.

According to Zainuddin, this program is part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program through the UMP Foundation fund for the needy.

“The UMP Foundation, formerly known as MyGift UMP, plays a role in helping students and the community in need.

“The UMP Foundation is always aggressive in finding funds to help more students and the community in need.

"Until now, this fund was obtained from the contributions of UMP staff, corporate companies, partners, and the public," he said.

He hopes that this contribution will be able to inspire the spirit of these children to continue to gain knowledge and cultivate the spirit of love for the country.

As for Mohammad Ismail, he did not expect that UMP’s visit this time was blessings for special children through the contribution of the UMP Foundation.

“We appreciate the contribution of UMP which is synonymous by holding various programs with SKIS.

"We would be most grateful should there be any kind of assistance to be provided for SKIS children," he said.

Meanwhile, the recipient of the donation, Muhammad Amirul Fikri Mohamad Fazir who has been suffering from Achondroplasia since childhood felt excited to receive the donation and thanked the donors and UMP.
