Chong Jia Xin receives Pro-Chancellor Award

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 – A mechanic’s daughter, Chong Jia Xin, 25, who is a graduate of the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering Technology (Computer System) with Honours was selected as the recipient of the Pro-Chancellor Award at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 17th Convocation Ceremony.

The recognition was delivered by the Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor at the UMP Sports Complex Hall.

In addition to excelling in the academic field, Jia Xin was also active in co-curricular activities as proven by receiving the dean’s list award every semester and winning a Gold Award during her studies for a Diploma in Electronic Engineering (Computer).

At the same time, she was also active in research, winning a silver medal in the 12th Creation, Innovation, Technology and Research Exposition (CITREx 2022).

She was also often entrusted with positions such as Head of the Division of Engineering Technology of the Student Section at the Institution of Engineers Malaysia, Vice-President of the Mandarin Language Association, Head of Regulation at UMP IEM ’VENTION’21 and others.

The youngest of three siblings added she wanted to gift this present to her parents who have sacrificed a lot to ensure that she gets the best education.  She is currently serving as a Graduate Intern at Intel Microelectronics and it is her turn to serve her parents.
