10 participants completed Fibre Optic Course training successfully obtained jobs

PAYA BESAR, 15 December 2022 - A total of ten participants of the Fibre Optic Course Training Programme sponsored by the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) in collaboration with UMP Advanced Education (UMP Advanced) successfully completed their training and started work in the field of fibre optic in Temerloh and Bentong, Pahang.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of UMP Advanced, Dato’ Mohd Sharil Abdullah who was present to celebrate the participants in the Skills Programme for Asnaf Children Training Completion Ceremony said the programme was a technical training and job placement programme for asnaf children covering technical skills in the field of fibre optic which was fully sponsored by MUIP.

“This programme involved 10 asnaf children from Pahang who had been selected and divided into two phases, namely the 12-day training phase and the job placement phase,” he said in a ceremony held at the UMP Paya Besar Library.

He also appreciated the collaboration of MUIP together with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and UMP Advanced and encouraged that this strategic collaboration programme would always be established as an economic catalyst to help more asnaf.

“We are very pleased if there is a continuous network of joint ventures and the exploration of more opportunities in the future to develop the socioeconomics of asnaf children in Pahang,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of MUIP, Dato’ Ahmad Hairi Hussain, also expressed his gratitude to UMP Advanced for helping offer courses and job placements to the Fibre Optic Course participants asnaf children of Pahang.

Mohd Amin Muslim Mohd Aliyas said he was grateful to be selected to participate in the programme.

He has now successfully obtained a job at Syarikat Lebak Makmur Sdn.Bhd.

He said that starting from 1 December 2022, they had started work in fibre optics around Temerloh and Bentong, Pahang with Lebak Makmur company which had helped them directly by providing comfortable accommodation from the first day until now.

The training phase was conducted by the Malaysian Technical Skills Academy (MTSA), a partner of UMP Advanced from 31 October to 12 November 2022.

Participants who have successfully completed their training are given a job placement by Lebak Makmur Sdn. Bhd.

Participants also received certificates of competency, namely Outside Plant Installer (TM CA 2C Premise Cabling) from Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Authorised Entrant & Standby Person (AESP) and Safety Passport from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).

Also present in the programme were the Chief Executive Officer, Lebak Makmur Sdn. Bhd., Muhammad Izzat Hanipah, Chief Executive Officer, Malaysia Technical Skills Academy (MTSA), Ahmad Shukri Abdul Aziz and Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Hamzah Ahmad who performs the function of the Chief Executive Officer of UMP Advanced.
