UMP appointed accredited Bosch Rexroth Academy training centre

GERMANY, 17 April 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) received the accreditation of UMP Bosch Rexroth Academy as a training centre for the IR4.0 Industrial Automation and Control & Drive certification programmes.

The UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin was present to receive the appointment from Bosch Rexroth Academy Director Mark Endress and Bosch Rexroth AG Executive Board Member and Deputy Executive President Thomas Donato.

Also present were the President and Chief Executive Officer, Bosch Rexroth ASEAN and Oceania, Micheal Gunawan, Bosch Rexroth Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Darren Chen, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Industrial and Community Collaboration Division, UMP, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Associate Professor Dr. Hamdan Daniyal.

This accreditation allows UMP to offer high level TVET competency certification programmes related to the automation and control and drive industry.

According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, UMP students especially from the field of technology and engineering would receive benefits, knowledge and skills from this collaboration between UMP and Bosch Rexroth.

“This collaboration is a starting point in making UMP a reference centre and advanced skills training not only in Malaysia but also in the world,” he said.

Meanwhile, meetings and discussions related to high level TVET open skills courses will be held hereafter.

Previously, UMP had already signed a partnership with Bosch Rexroth Sdn. Bhd. (Bosch Rexroth) in curriculum development activities to strengthen university-industry collaboration on 6 February.

This collaboration involves industrial training, exchange of students, offering improved learning courses, and making industry 4.0 training modules based on certifications from Germany as a reference.

In addition, this collaboration involves the placement of practical students using equipment in Malaysia and abroad and certification programmes for students, especially in the Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Engineering Technology and Bachelor of Engineering programmes.
