UMPH donates 1,000 face shield and drinking water to the healthcare workers
Concerned with the struggle faced by the frontliners and healthcare workers to combat the spread of Covid-19 virus, especially in Pahang State, UMP Holdings Sdn. Bhd (UMPH), a subsidiary of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), helps produced 1,000 face shields and donated 720 bottles of drinking water to the healthcare workers.
UMP Services Sdn. Bhd. produces the face shields while Imani Agro Industries Sdn. Bhd. donated the drinking water. Both companies are subsidiaries of UMP Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
The donations was handed over by General Manager, UMP Services Sdn. Bhd., Mohd. Sanusi Abdullah to Head of Nurse, Sister Sabariah Abu Bakar, who was represented by Nurilham Ibrahim dan Nancy Borubui.
Also present were Human Resources Manager, Adlan Maarop and Project Manager, Mohd Hairuddin Idris in the event that took place at Pahang Health Department.
According to Sanusi, a total of 1,000 face shields were distribute to Ministry of Health frontliners in this state to support the state government's initiative under the coordination of the Pahang State Secretary's Office.
"This donation is one of the social responsibility initiatives for the community as the country faces the threat of the Covid-19 outbreak. Currently, we are focusing to aid the frontline who are working hard to break the virus chain," he elaborates further.
He added, this initiative is another form of community service at the moment; with each company and individual plays a key role in alleviating the burden of frontline workers in battling the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, Hairuddin said, 30 volunteers from UMP Holdings & Group were working hand-in-hand to provide this disposable face shield. Safety precautions such as social distancing and regularly use of hand sanitizers were also implemented amongst the workers during the process of producing the face shields.
UMP Holdings have also cooperate with the UMP Alumni Society in donating drinking water to the frontliners including the workforces involve in the roadblocks all around Gambang.
The “triUMPH Frontliners” donation was also introduced to collect the people’s money in order to donate more drinking water to the frontliners. This donation will be carry out weekly.
On the other hand, UMP Holdings also supplies hand sanitizers to ensure it is always consistent and sufficient.
