UniLEEB programme polishes new talents of administrators in entrepreneurship

PEKAN, 11 March 2021 - In empowering the continuity of global and impactful higher education leadership, exposure to potential new talents needs to be polished to strengthen the management and branding of higher education institutions.

Realising this aspiration, the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT), in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), had organised the University Leaders Entrepreneurial Educators Bootcamp (UniLEEB) programme in three phases following the predetermined focus in entrepreneurship.

According to Senior Executive, Centre for International Relations, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Hazman Abdul, participants were exposed to the basic understanding of entrepreneurial architecture, art and features needed to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

“We were the Cohort 1 participants selected from public and private universities across the country and our group was selected as the top three groups that won an entrepreneurship grant worth RM5,000.00 as a start from UniLEEB and AKEPT.

“The focus of the module is to develop university educator leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset and to help university administrators to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial leadership capabilities by focusing on leadership competencies,” he said at the recent online Appreciation Ceremony.

He completed three modules namely Developing Entrepreneurial Mindset, Leadership Change, and Business Innovation. He received recognition as a Certified Entrepreneurial Leader by obtaining a certified Innovation Entrepreneurship Educator Leader Certificate, Certified Entrepreneurship coach and University Entrepreneurship Innovation Coach Certificate acknowledged by AKEPT.

This success will definitely give him space to develop an integrated entrepreneurial framework in the TVET ecosystem at UMP.

He also has the opportunity to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among the students and assist the university in strengthening the entrepreneurship programme at UMP.

It also provides an opportunity for participants to develop their own entrepreneurial and branding talents.

A total of 32 participants were awarded the Certificate of Accomplishment and accredited as Certified Entrepreneurial Leader while ten participants were awarded the Certificate of Completion.
