Ops Hantar Pelajar Pulang Volunteer, Nik Athirah receives Srikandi Matahari Award

PAYA BESAR, 6 August 2022 – Nik Athirah Nik Mahdi, 24, Ops Hantar Pelajar Pulang volunteer during the Movement Control Order (MCO) was awarded the Srikandi Matahari Award at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 16th Convocation Ceremony.

Sharing her experience helping universities when the country was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, she was involved in Ops Hantar Pelajar Pulang and took care of students’ welfare throughout the MCO.

UMP Golf Athlete Lee Jia Huey receives University Gold Award

BESAR, 6 August 2022 - Being good at dividing study time was the main factor in the success of the University Gold Award recipient at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 16th Convocation Ceremony.

Chemical Engineering Diploma graduand, Lee Jia Huey, 22, said, her determination to succeed prompted her to study hard and achieve excellent results.

UMP sends KILAU Volunteers to help flood victims in Baling

BALING, 15 July 2022 - It was disheartening for KILAU UMP volunteers team when they arrived at Kampung Masjid Iboi in Baling, which was hit by the tragedy of floods and headwater.

The residents’ houses were badly damaged by mud and some were displaced by the flood currents in the disaster that afflicted the residents in Baling.

KUANTAN, 20 July 2022 - The Institute of Civilisation and Strategic Studies (ITKAS) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) organised Program Menghayati Tamadun Pahang to celebrate 150 students, staff, KILAU UMP volunteers and media practitioners by watching the film Mat Kilau Kebangkitan Pahlawan at the East Coast Mall.

The effort also aims to close good relations between university management and students, staff and the community and instil a spirit of heroism in them.

UMP, AspenTech develop Academia-Industry Competency Programme

KUANTAN, 25 July 2022 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Aspen Technology (AspenTech) are expanding university and industry collaboration in the field of academia, research, industry networks and communities with the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on 1 November 2021.

Recently, the AspenTech Competency Development Programme was held for five days to improve the efficiency of lecturers and graduate employability using the latest technology in the chemical, oil and gas processing industry.

Nor Afifah, daughter of UMP professor, receives Vice-Chancellor Award

PAYA BESAR, August 6, 2022 - The daughter of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) lecturer, Professor Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim, Nor Afifah Abdullah, 24, received the Vice-Chancellor Award at the UMP 16th Convocation Ceremony which took place at the UMP Sports Complex, Gambang Campus.

Graduand of Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Energy & Environmental) with Honours received the award from the UMP Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor in the first session.

UMP, Huawei Services (Hong Kong) Co., Limited improve collaboration in telecommunications and mobile application technology

KUALA LUMPUR, 4 July 2022 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei Services (Hong Kong) Co. Limited, which recently took place at Huawei Technologies, Intermark Kuala Lumpur.

The MoU is the outcome of academic collaboration to develop training programmes, webinars, workshops, Hackaton, Huawei Developer Group and sharing expertise for mutual benefit.

Cancer does not stop Amira from achieving success, receives University Gold Award

PAYA BESAR, 6 August 2022 – When it was confirmed that she had muscle tissue cancer or rhabdomyosarcoma in the early semester of her study, Amira Abdul Talib, 29, felt that it had increased the burden on the family.

“My family is not from a simple circle and we live from hand to mouth.

“My main goal in pursuing my study is to learn and work to help my family.

“When I was tested like this, for God's sake, I was really not strong,” she said.
