Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Rusllim appointed TNC HEPA UMP

PEKAN, 18 April 2022 - The Chief Executive Officer of UMP Advanced (UMPA), Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Rusllim Mohamed was appointed as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) effective 18 April 2022 to 17 April 2025.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Rusllim replaces Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, who has been in the post since 21 June 2010.

Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie is currently the fifth UMP Vice-Chancellor appointed on 1 March 2022.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Rusllim is also the Director of the Technology and Technical Accreditation Secretariat (TTAS) of the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT).

He graduated with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from UMP (2013) and a Master of Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) in 2004.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom (1999-2001) after completing his Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 1998.

He has extensive experience in management and leadership and was the Director of the Centre for Academic Quality and Compliance (PKPA) in 2020.

In addition, he was appointed as the Director of the Centre for Academic Innovation & Competitiveness (CAIC) from 2015 to 2019.

Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Rusllim also received the 2013 Academic Excellence Award (AAU) (Engineering) in teaching and learning at UMP.

The UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin said the university was very honoured and thanked the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad on this appointment.

“Hopefully, this appointment will enable UMP to continue to excel as a leading technological university in leading the field of engineering and technology, especially in empowering the high-level Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) agenda in the country,” he said.
