RIMAU Virtual Challenge 2021 raises funds of RM28,036 for the development of Mawaddah Residential College UMP

PEKAN, 11 October 2021 – RIMAU Virtual Challenge 2021 organised by Yayasan UMP managed to raise funds amounting to RM28,036 for the development of Mawaddah Residential College in Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) campus in Pekan.

This virtual challenge is one of the initiatives by Yayasan UMP to raise funds for each trust and endowment in an effort to help students and those in need.

According to Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin who acts as Vice-Chancellor of UMP, activities based on the formation of a sense of belonging and culture of contribution among UMP families and Malaysians are expected to be further increased so as to ensure the continuity of welfare development in UMP.

He who is also the Deputy Chairman of Yayasan UMP was present to receive a cheque from Yayasan UMP worth RM28,036 from the collection of this charity initiative.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Yayasan UMP, Mohd Jamil Mohd Ja'afar said, the challenge this time allows participants to perform it through various forms of exercise whether walking, running or cycling.

“It is the best challenge in keeping the body healthy as well as donating.

“This initiative is also one of the charity projects or crowdfunding in an effort to help raise funds for the construction of the Mawaddah Residential College wakaf which will accommodate a total of 220 asnaf and poor students,” he said.

The charity run programme which ended on 30 September 2021 will be followed up with the Tok Gajah Virtual Challenge in an effort to help the community and underprivileged new students.

All of the proceeds from the donation will be channelled to those in need.

Registration for this activity can be made through Yayasan UMP's social media or portal yayasan.ump.edu.my.

Apart from that, the implementation of this welfare assistance has also been mobilised by Yayasan UMP through a special Yayasan UMP Education Incentive for new students who have financial problems to continue their studies at UMP this October in stages.
