UMP suspends academic operations a week starting 22 December 2021

PEKAN, 22 December 2021 - Considering the current situation and after evaluating every aspect, the university management has agreed to suspend all academic activities at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) effective from 22 to 28 December 2021.

This postponement includes the implementation of teaching and learning (T&L), laboratory activities, quizzes, assessments, assignment submission, and other academic activities.

According to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rosli Hainin, this postponement is to give students and staff involved in the flood disaster a cooling off period to resolve their families’ issues and needs.

“Following the postponement of academic activities, the university management has also agreed to shorten the Revision Week from two weeks (22 January to 6 February 2022) to one week (29 January to 6 February 2022).

“The date for the final examination of the semester remains as in the Academic Calendar for Semester I Session 2021/2022.

“Meanwhile, postgraduate students conducting research in laboratories and undergraduate students taking Final Year Project who are not affected by the flood disaster can continue their research activities or projects by contacting their respective Colleges/Faculties/Centres.

“Let’s pray together that all lecturers, students and university residents involved in this flood disaster are facilitated in all matters, given the strength to face the test, and protected from any calamity,” he said.

Based on records from the UMP Flood Disaster Operations Room until today, a total of 225 staff and 348 students were affected by the unusual disaster this time.
