Kenduri Rewang Adabi Tour with UMP students strengthens good relationship

PAYA BESAR, 10 January 2023 - Over 500 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students enjoyed a delicious lunch for free in conjunction with the Kenduri Rewang Adabi Tour Programme with UMP students at Masjid Universiti.

More interestingly, the menu of nasi minyak, ayam masak kerutub, sayur dalca and acar jelantah was prepared by cooking in groups assisted by about 30 volunteers of UMP Kilau students and Adabi Consumer staff led by Chef Irwan Mohd Nor.

The programme was also joined by famous celebrity Datuk Fizz Fairuz.

Also present were the Assistant Vice-Chancellor, UMP Industry and Community Collaboration Division, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin, General Manager of Adabi Kuantan, Abd Rahim Mohd Nor and Brand and Promotion Manager of Adabi, Roshidi Zabidi.

According to Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin, UMP expressed appreciation to Adabi Consumer for choosing UMP as the Kenduri Rewang Adabi Tour destination.

“This kind of programme is definitely beneficial for students with nutritious food.

“UMP welcomes strategic partners in conducting such programme to help ease the burden on students, especially those from the B40 group.

“Adabi Consumer is certainly no stranger to UMP as they always provide cooperation in student and community programmes,” she said.

She hoped that such a programme could continue in the future and positively impact students and the local community while introducing halal and high-quality food products with distinctive tastes.

Meanwhile, Abd Rahim said UMP’s involvement is no stranger as Adabi always gets full support and often collaborates on community service projects on and off campus.

“In fact, we are also invited to the university’s programmes including the expoconvo, kenduri rakyat and programmes for the month of Ramadan,” he said.

Roshidi Zabidi said UMP was the third destination in the Kenduri Rewang Adabi Tour after Rawang and Kuala Selangor and Perak would be the next destination after this.

“The menu available today uses Adabi products, especially spices and coconut milk.

“We thank the UMP student volunteers who helped a lot in preparing meals as early as 8.30 am,” he said.

He also called on students to support Adabi products which are producers of halal and high-quality food products that have great taste.
