Inspire@Smart Project raises its curtains, instilling high motivation in students

PEKAN, 25 September 2023 - A total of 35 facilitators, including students and alumni of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), have successfully organized the Inspire@Smart Project programme to instill a sense of motivation in selected students from ten schools in the Pekan district.

The three-day programme was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), UMPSA, Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Rusllim Mohamed.

The programme aims to shape students to be more motivated, have a stronger sense of identity, be passionate about learning, hone their communication skills, and boldly participate in all activities.

During the programme, students were given the opportunity to experience life as university students by staying overnight at the Mawaddah Residential College.

Throughout the programme, students were exposed to various activities and modules such as TRX City, Bob the Builder, innovation, cultural night, and many more, in an effort to educate them to think more creatively, foster teamwork, instil leadership values, encourage them to step forward, and cultivate a sense of responsibility.

According to one of the participant, Muhammad Zunul Zarrieff Abdullah from Sekolah Kebangsaan Indera Shahbandar, this programme helped him improve his communication skills, openness, willingness to provide opinions, get to know peers from different schools, and successfully gave them a taste of university student life.

This programme has helped students not only in developing and nurturing leadership qualities, critical thinking, and responsibility but also inspired them to further their education.

Also present were the Pekan District Education Officer, Tuan Hj Mohd Razali Mustafar, Executive of the Yayasan Bank Rakyat Programme Department, Muhammad Nur Iman Hairusalleh, Senior Manager of the UMPSA Student Affairs and Alumni Department, Haryani Abdullah, Project Manager of Smart Project, Noreen Sharina Atirah Aziz, and three representatives of District Education Officers, as well as ten school head masters.

UMP Foundation also extends its heartfelt thanks to Yayasan Bank Rakyat, the Islamic Religious Council and Malay Custom of Pahang (MUIP), and UMP Advanced, who were also partners in implementing this programme.
