Professors’ Public Lecture share expertise in the Innovation of Specialty Chemicals and Graphene

GAMBANG, 4 April 2024 - The Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Professors' Public Lecture provided an opportunity for academics to share their expertise and enrich knowledge with intellectual thinking related to contemporary issues and societal culture in this country.

The programme was organized by the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology (FTKKP), coordinated by the Department of Academic and International Affairs (JHEAA).

According to the Dean of FTKKP, Professor Ts. Dr. Sumaiya Zainal Abidin@Murad, this programme introduced the outstanding figure of UMPSA, namely the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for the Centre for Industry and Community Linkages, Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim, through her lecture entitled 'Specialty Chemical Innovation - Driving Sustainable Development'.

"Meanwhile, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Development), Professor Ts. Dr. Kamal Yusoh, delivered his lecture entitled 'Graphene - Black Gold of the 21st Century'.

"These two professors have made significant contributions not only in their respective fields but also to the institution and society as a whole," she said.

The ceremony witnessed UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts Yusserie Zainuddin, launching the books 'Innovation of Specialty Chemicals, Driving Sustainable Development' and '21st Century Black Graphene'.

Also present were Paya Besar Member of Parliament, Yang Berhormat Dato' Indera Muhammad Shahar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, faculty deans, and department heads.

More than 300 UMPSA students, staff, and school students attended the programme, which took place at Dewan Astaka, UMPSA Gambang Campus.
