UMP organizes Pekan Bridge Run to promote a healthy lifestyle

PEKAN, 10 July 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) will be organizing the UMP Pekan Bridge Run for the first time on 2 September 2023 to promote a healthy lifestyle among UMP residents and the local community.

With the concept of a fun run and running for charity, the event is part of UMP's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and aims to promote Pekan as one of the tourism destinations in the state of Pahang Darul Makmur.

Mohd Aznorizamin Ismail, the Director of UMP Sports and Cultural Centre, said that the run will also introduce Pekan, which is famous for its title as the Royal Town due to the presence of the Sultan of Pahang's palace and the royal family.

"There will be two categories in the competition, the five-kilometer and ten-kilometer runs, and the route will start from Hotel Ancasa, passing through the Sultan Abu Bakar Bridge to Pekan town.

"The route is scenic and offers participants the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and harmony of the Royal Town and pass through the surrounding villages along the route.

"In addition, participants also have the chance to win various lucky draw prizes, including electrical items and sports equipment," he said.
