UMP Women’s Association (Matahari) distributes donations to 34 members

PAYA BESAR, 22 December 2021 - Concerned about the fate of flood victims, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Women’s Association (Matahari) distributed assistance to its 34 members affected by the flood around Kuantan.

Among the donations handed over are daily necessities and food.

The donations were presented by Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Industrial Management (FPI) and President of UMP Women’s Association (Matahari), Datin Dr. Mazita Mokhtar and several committee members of Matahari.

According to Datin Dr. Mazita, this effort aimed to share the hardships and alleviate the burden of victims affected by the disaster as well as facilitate the victims who have returned to their respective flood-ravaged houses.

“This contribution is also an indicator of Matahari’s concern to all its members affected by the flood.

“Hopefully, this contribution can ease the burden and emotions borne by the flood victims.

“They are sad; maybe our presence will be able to cheer them up as well as help ease the burden they bear,” she said.

She added that UMP Women’s Association (Matahari) is one of the associations in UMP that will always work together and participate in helping ease the burden of the community in need, especially its members.

All donations were handed over at members’ homes, among others in Taman Seri Inderapura, Perumahan Bukit Rangin, Taman Pandan, Taman Gudang Rasau and several other locations.

According to one of its members who was also affected by the flood, Suzila Ali, she was surprised by the visit of the President and several committee members to her house.

She was grateful for the donations given in the form of food and hygiene kits.

She said all the victims of the floods would surely feel sad with the loss of property but the visit could encourage the members.
