Nurain receives Royal Education Award (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang), Dual Degree Excellence Prize

KUANTAN, 17 March 2022 - A graduand of a dual degree programme, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Automotive Engineering (collaboration programme with Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany) from the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA), Nurain Rozy received the Royal Education Award (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang) and the Dual Degree Excellence Prize in the 15th Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Convocation Ceremony.
 
The award and prize were presented by the UMP Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor at the ceremony held at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuantan.

Nurain, the eldest of four siblings, achieved a CGPA of 3.67.

She was also a graduate of Kolej MARA Kulim in 2015 before pursuing her study at UMP. 

She said she obtained many valuable experiences with the opportunity to study at IKKU Laboratory, Hochschule Karlsruhe, Germany for six months and she successfully completed the final year project.

“I went through many challenges in that semester, such as adapting to new places and limited time,” she said, a recipient of the Baden-Württemberg Scholarship in 2019 and 2020.

The experience undergoing industrial training at Continental Automotive Components Sdn. Bhd. also helped her in the working environment and she is currently an engineer in the Quality Department, Sime Darby Auto Engineering Sdn. Bhd., Kulim, Kedah.

“Among the duties of a Quality Engineer is to regulate and ensure that the products produced are following the quality standards set by the customer.

“The task carried out is in line with what was learned as an Automotive Engineering student at UMP,” she said.

She also had a very keen interest in martial arts and she was appointed as the Vice President of the Taekwondo ITF UMP Club (holder of the third degree black belt).

Nurain also attended the ITF Malaysia National Refereeing course (2017) and the ITF National Trainer Course (2016).

She took advantage of her active student life by joining other clubs such as Genesis Club, theatre and silat and was appointed as the Vice President of UMP-HsKA Community Club (2017 to 2018).
 
She added that family was the biggest contributor to her success and they gave a lot of encouragement and support.

“The same goes to lecturers and friends who were always by my side during my ups and downs,” she said.

She also recited several motivational quotes to the students at UMP who are still struggling to graduate and prayed for them to always be eager to succeed.

In addition, she advised students to enjoy every moment of student life at the university as the memories of being a student are among the most beautiful memories of a person’s life.

Also receiving the Dual Degree Excellence Prize was Danial Haris Limi Hawari who graduated with a dual degree programme, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Mechatronics Engineering (collaboration programme with Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany).
