Donation for students from the compound collections

Pekan, 21 October 2020 - The Security Division, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), handed over a contribution of RM1,956 as part of the payment of compounds and fines due to violating traffic rules and road discipline on campus for students.

This donation is utilized by students through donations to UMP Food Pantry to help the welfare of students who need it at this university.

The donation was handed over by the Head of UMP Security Division, Ahmad Fauzi Ahmad Bakti to the Deputy Speaker of the Student Representative Council, Che Muhammad Harith Ab Halim.

Present to witness the ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor of UMP, Professor Ir. Dr. Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Dato’ Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin in a ceremony held at the UMP Gambang Campus Banquet Hall recently.

According to Ahmad Fauzi, this donation is the result of compound collection imposed on students and staff from January to September last year and his party intends to implement it regularly from this year.

“It does not aim to pursue the amount of compound imposed on UMP residents but more on wanting to educate and nurture UMP residents to comply with the rules on the road as well as the rules within the UMP area.

“The proceeds from this donation enable the purchase of food, beverages, and other necessities.

"I hope UMP citizens will continue to abide by the rules that have been set while this compound is not a punishment but a lesson so as not to repeat it again," he said.

As for Che Muhammad Harith, his party thanked the UMP Security Division for this contribution, let alone knowing that it is the result of the university compound collection.

“Apart from that, with this contribution, we can add resources to help at UMP Food Pantry which provides food resources and necessities to students for free.

"It is very beneficial to students, especially from B40 families who are on campus," he said.
