UMP launches book on Rukun Negara dan Pancasila Ideologi dan Amalan

KUANTAN, 22 August 2022 - The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, launched the book Rukun Negara and Pancasila Ideologi dan Amalan, published by UMP Press at the Dinner Ceremony in conjunction with the Rukun Negara-Pancasila Regional Discourse.

Also present were the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, Chairman of LPU Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie, Vice-Chancellor of UNIMAS, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohamad Kadim Suaidi and Chairman of the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), Datuk Kamarudin Md Ali.

According to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz, for the first time, this book compiles 23 articles from authors from UMP, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta State University (UNY), consisting of seven UMP authors’ articles, eight from UKM and eight from UNY.

“It is an effort to empower the Rukun Negara and respect the principles and values to love our country,” he said.

He said the ceremony also celebrated UMP’s close relationship with UKM, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in realising the Regional Discourse programme featuring prominent figures from both countries.

“The organisation of the discourse by the UMP Institute of Civilisation and Strategic Studies (ITKAS) also coincides with the current independence month celebration.

“This programme is expected to nurture and invigorate patriotism and love of the country among UMP associates and Malaysians,” he said.

The ceremony was also graced with cultural acts performed by Gendang Silat and a showcase of blowing war horn (tetuang) by Serindit Club, a combo musical performance from the Centre for Sports and Culture (PSK), UMP with guest artists Jamrah Mahat (PSK), Mohd Safar Shah Alauddin (SUK) and Roslan Madun, the national arts activist and Kencana Pawana dancers, UMP Cultural and Arts Secretariat.

MUBARAK representatives and representatives of the delegation from Indonesia also performed during the ceremony.
