UMP receives MPV from Perodua

PEKAN, 28 July 2022 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) received a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Perodua Alza donated by Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn. Bhd. (Perodua). The contribution symbolises the appreciation from Perodua to UMP as the first university to receive Sijil Bersih from the National Audit Department for ten consecutive years since 2012.

In the event, the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin received replicas of the car key and RM10,000 cheque from the Chief Operating Officer of Perodua Sales Sdn. Bhd., JH Rozman Jaafar at the Quality and Innovation Day Award Ceremony 2022 held at the UMP Pekan Multipurpose Hall.

The event was officiated by the UMP Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abu Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor.

Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie appreciated the recognition of Perodua for awarding UMP with a Special Award to the Bursary Department, especially those who have given the full commitment and high quality, skilled and knowledgeable workforce to maintain Sijil Bersih for ten years.

“The Auditor General’s Sijil Bersih reflects the trust and responsibility shown, and it should be continued for the well-being of all UMP residents.

“It also encourages UMP employees to empower the excellent work culture.

“The donation of the all-new Perodua Alza is a symbol of recognition for UMP’s achievements,” he said.

“Congratulations to UMP for the efforts and dedication to quality and integrity as we practice at Perodua,” said the Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Perodua hoped that UMP would continue to inculcate this virtue to be an example, not only to other higher education institutions (IPTs), but also to all private and public sectors.

“The value of quality and integrity is a vital foundation in Perodua.

“Only an honest, transparent and trustworthy workforce can build a successful organisation,” he said.

In addition to the Perodua Special Award, the 2022 UMP Quality and Innovation Day Ceremony today saw 294 UMP employees receive awards for 2020 and 2021 assessments involving the Excellent Service Award (APC), Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Award, Industry and Community Excellence Award, Sports Award, Community Personality Award, Best Article Writing Award, and Special Quality and Innovation Day Award 2022

The event was a sign of appreciation and recognition in proving an excellent level of achievement through acculturation of quality and innovation, which is the main driving force towards the organisation’s excellence.

Today’s event was also graced by the sharing session delivered by the Founder and Director of DTA Capital Partners, Dali Sardar, with UMP employees to continue to drive UMP towards glory within the framework of the UMP Strategic Plan 2021-2025.

Also happened during the event was the launch of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) Handbook as a rebranding initiative for 5S practices to enhance competitive and innovative performance in the public sector.

The ceremony also saw the Best Community Partner Award 2021 won by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, Pahang and Pekan District Health Office.

Meanwhile, the Community Partner Award 2020 was won by the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) and Etiqa Takaful.
