Yayasan UMP and UCTS collaboration towards graduate employability

KUANTAN, 23 October 2021 - Continuing to be active in efforts to increase graduate employability, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) through Yayasan UMP and a subsidiary of Kumpulan UMP Holdings Sdn. Bhd., UCT Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (UCTS) collaborated as a hub (one-stop centre) in the development of UMP students and graduates.

Present to sign the agreement were the Chairman of Yayasan UMP, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), who performs the duty of Vice-Chancellor of UMP, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, while UMPH was represented by the Chief Executive Officer, UMP Holdings Group Sdn. Bhd., Ir. Dr. Syed Mohammad Hamzah Al-Junid Syed Abdul Rahman and UCTS General Manager, Sa’udin Sulong.

According to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz, the university is very concerned and committed in efforts to increase graduate employability.

“Through this collaboration, students and graduates have the opportunity to get placement and undergo training as well as technology transfer from countries with expertise, especially in engineering and technology, including Germany and China,” he said in a ceremony held at Zenith Hotel, Kuantan recently.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz hoped that this cooperation will provide opportunities for UMP students and alumni to further their studies at the international level.

It is also in line with the university’s aspirations in achieving the UMP Strategic Plan 2021-2025.

UMP has a strong network of academic collaboration with the Federal Republic of Germany, which also produces competitive graduates.

Engineering and technology programmes are constantly being value-added through a continuous benchmarking process using the world-class German Engineering education model (Fachhochschule), such as the UMP-Karlsruhe University of Applied Science (HKA) Germany collaboration programme.

The university will also continue to provide the best while improving the graduate quality and employability to produce holistic, entrepreneurial, and balanced graduates, and to meet the needs of the industry.

For the record, UMP is currently ranked 301-500 in the world’s best universities in terms of graduate employability in the QS Graduate Employability Ranking 2022 (QS GE).
