UMPSA Residents Hoist the National Flag to Enliven National Day 2023
PAYA BESAR, August 11, 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) held a National Flag Presentation Ceremony to further enhance the spirit of love for the country among UMPSA residents in conjunction with National Day 2023 with the theme 'Malaysia MADANI: Determination for Unity Fulfills Hope' (‘Malaysia MADANI: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan’) for this year.
The ceremony, held in the courtyard of the Dataran Canseleri UMPSA Gambang Campus, was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, who was present to hand over the national flag to all department heads to promote the national flag hoisting campaign at the university level.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, this programme was organized to encourage UMPSA residents to hoist the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) together to demonstrate their love for the country and to celebrate the National Month and the upcoming National Day and Malaysia Day.
"As citizens of this country, we need to proudly hoist the Jalur Gemilang everywhere, especially at our residences, offices, buildings, and vehicles.
Various programmes have also been planned to fill the schedule throughout National Month," he said.
He also personally hoisted the national flag on university vehicles to further enliven the National Day 2023 celebration.
Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Dr. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli, Registrar/Chief Operating Officer, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, and Treasurer of UMPSA, Dato’ Zainuddin Othman.
Throughout National Month, UMPSA, through the Registrar's Office, has prepared various activities including participation in the State-level National Day Parade and Procession, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programmes, Office Decoration and Tik Tok Merdeka Contest, Merdeka Blood Donation, Merdeka Lecture: 'The Importance of Leadership of Religious Scholars and Rulers,' and many more.
