UMPSA honours 58 staff serving for 20 years
GAMBANG, 16 February 2024 - A total of 58 staff members of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) who have served for 20 years were celebrated at a recent Vice-Chancellor's Address Ceremony.
The ceremony of certificate presentation and tokens of appreciation was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yusserie Zainuddin, and Registrar/Chief Operating Officer, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim.
Vice-Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yusserie Zainuddin, expressed congratulations to the staff who have sacrificed a lot during their service at this university, contributing to UMPSA's success.
"In line with the theme of 'Excellent Personality,' it reflects the competency and knowledge of UMPSA citizens in harnessing energy for UMPSA's current achievements.
"An excellent personality can be embodied through the core values of UMPSA.
"I am very confident and believe that the main foundation of an excellent personality is trustworthiness before we explore other characteristics within an excellent personality," he said during his speech at the UMPSA Gambang Campus, Astaka Hall recently.
He also called on all UMPSA citizens to maintain trustworthiness to fulfill their responsibilities as UMPSA citizens.
According to one of the recipients, who is a Vocational Training Officer at the Advanced TVET Centre of UMPSA, Ts. Mohd Anuar Haji Ramli, 49, he was willing to attend this ceremony despite using a cane due to knee health issues since last year.
"When I learned about this ceremony to honour staff who have served for 20 years, I was very excited to attend because I might not experience this joyful moment again.
"Moreover, if my life is extended for only about eight more years, I can serve the university because I am obligated to retire at the age of 56.
"I am grateful and very proud to be a UMPSA citizen; I have gained many benefits and facilities during my service here," he said.
He said, praised be to God, his health condition is improving, and he can still move, albeit limited in speed, but it does not hinder teaching sessions and laboratory sessions.
