UMPSA receives delegates from the Johor State Education Department

PEKAN, 10 August 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) received delegates from the Johor State Education Department in conjunction with the Industry Verification Visit for the Career Advisor Adoptive Programme of the Johor State Education Department recently.

The delegates was led by Guidance and Counselling Teacher cum Career Advisor of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Kota Tinggi, Ibrahim Ya’akub, along with 29 Career Advisors and Guidance Teachers representing 30 schools in Johor.

The arrival of the delegates at MPSA was welcomed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman. Also present was the Director of the Centre for Marketing and Academic Intake, Zainal Bahari.

According to Ibrahim, the delegation's visit to UMPSA aimed to gather educational information regarding opportunities for students who have completed their Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) and Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) to pursue higher education at the university level.

He expressed gratitude to UMPSA for warmly welcoming this visit and for the wealth of information obtained, especially during the activities conducted throughout the programme, including the UMPSA Dialogue Session, Briefing Session with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), and the opportunity to visit laboratories at the Faculty of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering Technology (FTKMA).

Meanwhile, Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the Johor State Education Department for choosing UMPSA as the programme's hosting destination.

"Such information is crucial for schools to help provide an understanding to SPM or STPM graduates who wish to continue their studies at the chosen university," he said.

Furthermore, through programmes like these, a lot of information can be shared with teachers, especially regarding the Engineering and Technology programmes offered at this university.
