UMP launches ‘Kembara UMP 21’ Programme to engage with communities within and outside the country

PEKAN, 7 June 2023 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, who is also the Chairman of UMP Foundation, launched ‘Kembara UMP 21’ (exploration programme) to provide exposure and empower students while enhancing their personal development by immersing themselves in the cultures of communities within and outside the country.

400 UMP students receive Taqwa Foundation donation benefits

PEKAN, 7 June 2023 - A total of 400 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students have received educational assistance from The Taqwa Foundation of the Federal Territories with a total value of RM200,000 which includes living allowances, student zakat assistance, food vouchers, and Professional Training Incentives through the university's expertise.

Through the SISWA+ Laptop Assistance Program, 20 selected students have received donations in the form of laptops and internet data, with a donation value of RM66,596.00.

PAYA BESAR, 12 June 2023 - The presence of the ‘Serambi Ilmu Rakyat’ (SIR – People's Knowledge) Corner at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Library will be an important value-added feature to enhance comprehensive access to information resources for education and research at UMP. 

Through the collaboration between the Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR) and the UMP Library, it provides opportunities for students to explore various digital knowledge sources.

The UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin said the Implementation of the Leadership Profile Assessment Programme Series 1 would identify and evaluate the talents of prospective Academic Leaders and Administrative Officers with high potential to fill UMP strategic positions.

KUANTAN, 11 June 2023 - Losing a mother while sitting the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination did not deter Mohamad Abdul Jani Hayi, a student of Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SEMSAS) Kuantan to obtain 9 A.

However the joy could not be shared with his beloved mother, Norhazlin Othman, 53, who passed on while he was sitting for SPM in February.

PEKAN, 6 June 2023 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is strengthening its strategic joint venture with Syarikat Bisnis Peladang Sdn. Bhd. (MADACorp) through signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve agricultural technology to increase paddy and rice productivity.

The ceremony saw the Senior Director, UMP Research and Innovation Department, Professor Dr. Mohd Hasbi Ab Rahim and MADACorp Senior Manager Rahizal Rahim sign the MoU.

UMP donates 100 Mandarin books to school students

MARANG, May 30, 2023 - The Confucius Institute (CI) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has donated 100 Mandarin books, videos, and dictionaries to Yayasan Terengganu Imtiaz Secondary School Marang, in an effort to assist the students in mastering the Mandarin language.

The donated books cover Mandarin language, past-year Chinese language skill examination questions, Chinese culture, literature, and tourism.

Petrosains RBTX Challenge 2023 empowers robotics enthusiasts in Pahang

PEKAN, 18 June 2023 – The excitement of robotics filled the air as Petrosains, in collaboration with the Sports and Arts Education Division, Ministry of Education, Malaysia, organised the highly anticipated Petrosains RBTX Challenge 2023.

On 17 and 18 June, students and teachers from various schools across Pahang gathered at the UMP STEM Lab to participate in an engaging two-day workshop focusing on two exhilarating competition tracks: line tracing and sumo.
