Yayasan UMP receives RM15,000 donation from Alha Alfa Rich Legacy

KUANTAN, 7 November 2021 – Yayasan UMP received a contribution worth RM15,000 from Alha Alfa Rich Legacy (AARL) for student welfare and those in need.

The donation was handed over by the Founder and Executive Director of Alha Alfa Rich Legacy, Dato’ Al Halim Al Fadzil or known as Dato’ Alha Alfa, to the Chairman of the UMP Board of Directors cum Chairman of Yayasan UMP, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman in a ceremony held at Dewan Tun Fatimah, UMP Gambang recently.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Aziz expressed his gratitude towards Alha Alfa Rich Legacy’s concern for the contribution given and the close collaboration with the university in ensuring the success of the community service (CSR) programme.

“UMP always welcomes this collaboration and always strives to collect and manage funds received from the public, companies and institutions for the use of UMP students to fund educational and community programmes.

“This strategic collaboration involving Alha Alfa Rich Legacy has long since started during the flood aid handover programme around the Pekan district.

“UMP greatly appreciates this networking collaboration and hopes that this relationship can be continued and strengthened in the future in volunteering missions as well as helping those in need,” he said.

At the same time, an Entrepreneurship Talk with Dato’ Alha Alfa also took place, involving the participation of 50 university students.

In the programme, Dato’ Alha shared his involvement experience in business and disclosed his story of ups and downs in the business world.

For Dato’ Alha, in preparation, students need to be more prepared to venture into entrepreneurship in the future.

“As an entrepreneur, we need to have great courage and determination to continue striving for success.

“Besides that, for every success, we would definitely go through various obstacles that need to be faced and prudently overcome,” he said.

Dato’ Alha also shared the bittersweetness of being a cosmetics entrepreneur.

He also shared the ordeal he went through when his product was plagiarised; however, the matter was quickly resolved.

Dato’ Alha also called on students who are interested in the entrepreneurship field to not be intimidated and afraid to venture into this challenging business field.

He also advised students to always surround themselves with positive friends and not feel too comfortable with a situation.

He added that students should always look for ideas to improve their business.

Alha Alfa Rich Legacy Sdn. Bhd. (AARL) is a cosmetics company that has successfully coordinated a series of charitable donations such as aid to flood victims in Pahang and Kedah, Gaza donation aid, and food basket aid.

Alha Alfa is also involved in helping zakat beneficiaries (asnaf) by donating through the Selangor Zakat Board.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin who performs the function of the Vice-Chancellor of UMP, Director of UMP Entrepreneurship Centre, Dr. Mohd Nizar Mhd Razali, Director of Industry and Community Network, Associate Professor Dr. Saiful Anwar Che Ghani, and Chief Executive of Yayasan UMP, Mohd Jamil Mohd Ja’afar.
