150 individuals participated in the 2023 Professional Women Seminar

KUANTAN, 9 November 2023 - A total of 150 women took part in the 2023 Professional Women Seminar at the Grand Darul Makmur Hotel, with the goal of enhancing understanding and knowledge regarding the roles of women in maintaining harmony, sustainability in families, and the community.

The one-day programme featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Aznita Iryany Mohd Noor, a Public Health Medical Specialist from the Pahang State Health Department (JKNP), who delivered a talk on 'Women and the Risk of Cancer'.

The presentation by Independent Preacher, Datuk Dr. Norhafizah Musa, on the topic 'Women: Wife vs. Career' also offered a lot of information and tips on balancing women's roles in both career and family.

The topic 'Separating Charm: Love Turns to Hate' was also discussed and presented by Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor Dr. Mahyuddin Ismail from Centre for Human Sciences (PSK) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). Additionally, the topic 'Joint Property: Rights of a Wife' was presented by Nur Munirah Mustaffa, a State Sharia Lawyer in Pahang.

The seminar organised by the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN) in collaboration with Charitable Association of Wives of Pahang State Representatives (TERATAI) was officiated by the Secretary of TERATAI, Datin Hajah Norziana Yusoff as the representative for the President of TERATAI, Datin Sri Dato' Hajah Burhah Mohammad.

In her opening speech, she stated that this inaugural programme aims to delve into and enlighten participants on the knowledge of health, finance, emotions, as well as self and career management.

"As we know, women encounter various challenges while navigating their daily lives as wives, mothers, daughters, and professionals.

"Women play a crucial role in everyone's life journey.

"Every year, International Women's Day is celebrated to appreciate and recognize the achievements of women across the nation, irrespective of background, ethnicity, language, culture, and economy," she said.

She further added, the role of women today is on par with that of men,

" Women are now seen as more formidable and resilient in facing various challenges and twists in life.

“The greatness of women is evident across various fields, serving as a source of inspiration for everyone.

"It is hoped that all participants can incorporate the knowledge shared today into their daily lives, empowering themselves in every field they pursue," she said.
