200 SPM candidates benefit from Yayasan PETRONAS empower ECER Academic programme

MERSING, 13 October 2022 - The launch of the Yayasan Petronas empower ECER Academic Programme saw a total of 200 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates benefit from the opportunity to participate in the PETRONAS empower ECER Academic Programme conducted by UMP Advanced.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Menteri Besar Johor, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi held at Hotel Seri Malaysia Mersing.

Also present were the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the Industrial and Community Collaboration Division of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin and Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Hamzah Ahmad who performs the function of the Chief Executive Officer of UMP Advanced.

According to Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina, UMP was selected by Yayasan PETRONAS and the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) to implement the 2022 PETRONAS empower ECER Academic programme.

“This human capital development programme will enhance and empower selected participants with academic skills training to create a more balanced society.

“In addition, this program will enhance students’ academic achievement by improving academic and personal development skills.

“Through UMP Advanced, the Yayasan PETRONAS programme in collaboration with ECERDC has the cooperation of the Johor State Education Department and the Mersing District Education Office,” she said.
