Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie re-appointed UMP Vice-Chancellor

PEKAN, 1 November 2022 - Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin was re-appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) effective 1 November 2022.

Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) before continuing his study in Commerce at the University of Wollongong, Australia in 1992.

He also had a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1997.

According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, this appointment is a tremendous trust and responsibility in carrying out duties and moving together to mobilise forces to improve UMP achievement and bring UMP to the international level.

“I hope UMP associates carry out the activities that we have planned together to ensure that the UMP Strategic Plan 2021-2025 (UMP25) can be well implemented and achieved,” he said at the Management and Staff Event at Tun Abdul Razak Chancellery Building, UMP Pekan recently.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Dr. Mohd. Rusllim Mohamed who performs the function as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Registrar, Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim and Bursar, Zainuddin Othman.

He served for 11 years at USM before serving at the university.

During his 12 years of service at UMP, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie was the Dean of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS) in 2010 and was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) for 11 years, making him so close to students.

It makes volunteerism an important university agenda in producing skilled students and concerned UMP associates in line with the UMP slogan ‘Technology for Society’.
