UMP and PSDM sign joint agreement in book research and publication

KUANTAN, 10 April 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Perbadanan Stadium Darul Makmur (PSDM) signed a joint agreement on the research, writing, editing, printing and publication of the book ‘Memoir Lima Dekad: Perbadanan Stadium Darul Makmur, 1973-2023’ in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Stadium Darul Makmur this year.

The collaboration also involves the Research and Innovation Department, Faculty of Industrial Management and UMP Press.

UMP and PSDM have collaborated especially in matters related to the organisation of sports activities, but this collaboration is quite special when UMP is now part of the stakeholders and key strategic partners in conjunction with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Perbadanan Stadium Darul Makmur scheduled for September 2023.

The ceremony saw the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin sign a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Exco of Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Bodies of Pahang State, Yang Berhormat Fadzli Mohamad Kamal and Chairman of Perbadanan Stadium Darul Makmur.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Professor Ts. Kamal Zuhairi Zamli and Perbadanan Stadium Darul Makmur Manager, Izad Zainal Muhammad Safian.

According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, UMP is proud when one of the academics namely Wan Nazrul Helmy Wan Mohd Zain from the Faculty of Industrial Management is appointed as a researcher and consultant author for the book ‘Memoir Lima Dekad: Perbadanan Stadium Darul Makmur, 1973-2023’ through the award of an industry grant worth RM145,000.

“The project through this industry grant also gives a significant weighting score to UMP in the context of the Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) assessment at the Ministry of Higher Education level,” he said.

There are seven Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assessed against academics at all public universities (UAs) namely teaching and learning, research, publication, consultation, supervision, administration and community services.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Secretary of Government of Pahang, Yang Hormat Dato’ Dr. Mohd Zakaria Ibrahim and the Chief Assistant Financial Officer of the Pahang Government, Azrul Sharill Ahmad.

Also present were the Senior Director of Research, Professor Dr. Mohd Hasbi Ab. Rahim, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Management, Dr. Mohd Hanafiah Ahmad and Director of UMP Press, Ir. Ts. Dr. Norazlianie Sazali.
