UMP researcher produces milk coagulant using a mixture of extract of three local fruits

Kuantan, 8 September 2020 - Milk coagulation is the first process for the production of cheese or curd and is usually done using enzyme extracts from the stomach of unweaned young animals such as calves, kids and piglets.

Looking at this situation, the lecturer of the Faculty of Science and Industrial Technology (FSTI), Associate Professor Dr. Jaya Vejayan Palliah produced milk coagulant using a mixture of extracts of three local fruits, namely mango, pineapple and noni.

Kuantan, 8 September 2020 – Pengentalan susu merupakan proses pertama bagi penghasilan keju atau dadih dan biasanya dilakukan dengan cara menggunakan ekstrak enzim daripada perut anak haiwan seperti lembu, kambing dan khinzir.

Melihat kepada keadaan ini, pensyarah Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Industri (FSTI), Profesor Madya Dr. Jaya Vejayan a/l Palliah telah menghasilkan pengental susu menggunakan campuran ekstrak tiga buah-buahan tempatan iaitu mangga, nanas dan mengkudu.

High-level disinfectant can kill human coronavirus in 30 seconds

Kuantan, 18 August 2020 - Researchers from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) successfully developed a high-level disinfectant (HDL), Diaclean Pera Sterilant which contains the active ingredient peracetic acid from food vinegar that can kill 99.99% of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa.

Professor Dato’ Dr. Zularisam Ab Wahid, who led the research, said this disinfectant has been tested for its effectiveness by an international laboratory Viroxy Lab.
